Keynote by Former Eskimo Jed Roberts

Born hearing impaired, Jed did not learn to speak until he was 5 years old, which was a primary motivating factor in his decision to work with underprivileged youth for a living, and we are extremely excited to welcome Jed to YOUth POWER 4 as this year's keynote! A former Edmonton Eskimos linebacker, defensive lineman and special teams player for 13 seasons, Jed also helped found the Eskimos "Stay in School" program in the early 90's, and spoke to thousands of youth about the importance of staying in school, identifying role models, and setting goals for the future. Jed started his current career as a child and youth care worker while he was still playing in the CFL, and has been working as a CYCW for over 16 years.

Glen Ronald Performs Live Art

Every year at YOUth POWER, we have a live art showcase where our attendees can not only learn from the artist, but also participate in the creation of the art themselves.  At the end of the event, we present this masterpiece that has been created live at the event!  This year, we are super excited to welcome Glen Ronald to the live art showcase.  With close to a quarter of a million followers online, Glen's art has been making waves across the globe and getting notice from pro athletes, Starbucks corporate, and art lovers.  Glen has been drawing and painting for his entire life and produces art that reflects the continual search for cosmos when faced with chaos.
